BindMD™ Wound Closure Device

I tested one on my arm and attached the photo. The adhesive sticks really well - enough so that I could put some pretty serious tension on the toothed plastic bands. In the photo you'll see how my skin is folded. I was able to apply it to myself using my fingers to pull one direction and my teeth in the other. The next step is to break off the plastic ends - but if I'm in a situation where I need to use this - I don't think that will be a big priority for me. I'm putting one of these in my car, one in my CERT/First Aid Bag, and one with my camping equipment. When U have a big wound - this will be a godsend. I hope I never need them.

I picked these up for urgent situations when immediate medical attention may not be available. They are an absolute must have whether you're engaged in outdoor activities like hiking and camping, or preparing an emergency kit for your bugout bag. These suture bandages are essentially designed to keep your injury sealed until you can reach a medical professional. The bandages come with adjustable zip ties, allowing me to control the pressure needed to keep a wound closed. I appreciate that this kit comes with alcohol prep pads and swab sticks for wound cleansing, along with four zip tie bandages. These can serve as a temporary last resort solution for your wound in a survival scenario when medical professionals are not available. While I have thankfully not needed these (yet) the kit seems to be made very well and I would trust these in an emergency to get the job done. Overall, these are a nice addition to any medical bag and could prove to be vital in certain scenarios, I highly recommend them.

This is actually really neat (although I'm hoping I won't have to use them). Basically, it's an adhesive bandage with an opening in the middle. The "stitches" are basically small zip ties on both sides. You apply the bandage and pull the ties to hold the wound closed. It's handy to have in a med kit . . . just in case.

I stumbled across these and hadn't seen something like them before, but definitely could have used them a few times in the past so I got them in case of future emergencies. Seems like a great idea for deep, long cuts where butterfly stitches aren't enough.

The online information, the package itself, and the instruction sheet inside the box all give excellent illustrated directions on how tho use one of these wound closure devices. Application seems to be both fast and easy. There are four wound closure devices in this box, and each is individually wrapped and is sterile until opened unless the wrapper itself is damaged, such as by tearing it or getting it wet. I can think of many times in my life and in the lives of friends and family members where one of us should absolutely have gone to the emergency room to get stitches on a large gash, but did not end up going for one reason or another. The results have been unnecessary scars (or larger scars than necessary), greater infection risk, and slower healing. The reasons for not going to the ER have been many, but most of the reasons were probably not very good ones. Stubbornness and an exaggerated sense of our ability to handle it ourselves probably top the list. This box of four wound closure devices will come in handy the next time one of those "I should go, but I'm not going to" moments arises. This is not only a must for my own home emergency kit, at $29 for a set of four wound closure devices, I also consider this a very giftable item for friends and family.

We have moved to the mountains from the city post retirement. We are doing more hiking and trail running. We've already had one fall while trail running. Nothing serious a basic band aid couldn't handle, but...... Ordered these as a preventative to have in the car just in case when we are on the trails. Fortunately we have not yet had to try this product. It's one of those products that when you need it you need it NOW! Wanted to make sure I had it on hand for if/when that time comes. Good addition to a first aid kit at home or in the car.

Great to add to the med kit. Steri strips can be difficult to use and if there is much bleeding it makes it even more difficult. Haven’t used this yet but I’m sure will be a better solution

This is the second time we have picked up these no-suture kits, having used one in an emergency on a trail after a mountain bike crash - so I can personally attest to how well they work.

They are very sticky, even over hairy legs, though common sense says you should wash away most of the blood before you try to stick it down.

The little plastic ties lock into place quite easily

Everyone should have these in any sort of travel first aid kit where a trip to the actual hospital may take longer than you wanted it to.

Right off, I am glad others have provided photos so I don’t need top open either pack and they can go right into my trauma pack, so thanks to them. Aside from that, these appear to be just like the other Zip Sutures I have with the the addition of alcohol pads and swabs—a nice touch. Their use is relatively straight-forward, and can be a real time saver in emergencies.
